GfN Conference in April 2025

For the first time, the GfN Conference is being held in Sweden.

Welcome to register for GfN 2025 in Uppsala! GfN stands for Gesellschaft für Namenforschung, and this time the Institute for Language and Folklore (Isof) is hosting the recurring conference.

The theme of the conference is ”Names in Context”, and we will have the opportunity to engage with current research through around twenty presentations. The conference is primarily aimed at onomasticians.

The event is free of charge, but in order to plan for the venue, lunch, and coffee service, we kindly ask participants to register through the form below.

Event details

Time: Wednesday, April 2 from 13.00 to Friday, April 4 at 14.00.

Location: Lecture hall, Arkivcentrum, von Kraemers allé 19, Uppsala.

Lunch: The organisers will provide lunch, on day 2 and 3.

Conference dinner: Planned for day 2.

Language: German and English.
